What aluminum tanks does AlumiTank make for Freightliner?

We offer cylindrical and rectangular tanks for Freightliner. Cylindrical tanks come in 23", 25", and 27.5" diameters; rectangular tanks come in common sizes including 13"x18", 18"x18-1/4", and 18-1/4"x18-1/2". Lengths run up to 90" weld-to-weld.

How are Freightliner tanks plumbed?

Freightliner tanks use a high-level crossover draw and return assembly that's welded in for proper fuel equalization. The return tube (3/8" NPT) sits toward the front of the truck and the draw tube (1/2" NPT) toward the rear. Most Freightliner tanks have a single sending unit hole.

Do you make Freightliner step tanks?

Yes. Our rectangular Freightliner step tanks come with bushings welded to the tank so the step bolts directly on — no extra brackets needed.

Will my original fuel cap fit?

Freightliner tanks use the OEM-style fill neck, so your original cap fits and you can reuse it. As a general rule, we include a fuel cap only on tanks with a 2" 11.5 TPI fill neck; otherwise our tanks are designed for you to reuse your original components.

Do you make Western Star tanks?

Yes. Western Star and Freightliner are built so similarly — and by the same manufacturer — that we group them together. Western Star cylindrical tanks follow the same Freightliner design, including the high-level crossover plumbing and fittings. Just give us your truck's details and we'll match the right tank.

What finishes are available for Freightliner tanks?

Polished is available on cylindrical tanks, and Milgrade is available on both cylindrical and rectangular tanks.
