General Tank Inspection

Interior Cleaning & Fuel Contamination

• Inspect every 3–6 months for cracks, corrosion, or abrasion.
• Contamination risks: water, rust, microbial growth ("diesel algae")
  Drain tank completely.
• Add high-alkaline cleaner (Simple Green or sodium tripolyphosphate).
  Agitate for 30–60 minutes, rinse thoroughly.
• Neutralize with a mild bleach rinse, then rinse again.
• Let dry completely before refueling.
• Tip: Use a diesel biocide to prevent microbial contamination.

Polishing Your Aluminum Tank

• Use jeweler’s rouge with a 6–8” muslin buffing wheel.
• Buff small sections and apply polish generously.

• Worn brackets or stripped fittings
